LAFCU Fundraiser
(Continued)
Los Angeles Federal Credit Union (LAFCU) raised $11,500 in donations for The Midnight Mission (TMM) in August. An initial amount of $6,500 was raised from online and in-person branch donations with LAFCU contributing an additional $5,000 in matching funds for TMM through our charity, the Los Angels Charitable Association, Inc. (LACA) bringing the total to $11,500.
100% of the donation will go directly to support TMM’s newly opened Clare E. Women’s Recovery Center, designed for and run by women, to assist with the growing number of women in recovery and living on Skid Row. The center opened this past July and admitted its first participants in August. TMM's Board Officials celebrated the newly opened center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and we are proud to have our donation support this worthy cause.
Since 1914, TMM, located in the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles, has offered a bridge to self-sufficiency for the unhoused. In addition to providing a secure place to sleep and three meals a day, TMM also provides job training classes, medical services, addiction recovery programs, domestic counseling services, and many other essential services for the community.
Anyone who lives in most counties of Southern California can join LAFCU and take advantage of its financial services. For details, visit www.LAFCU.org, call (877) MY LAFCU (695-2328), or visit a branch.
