Student Education Loans

The cuScholar Private Student Loan is a way to help finance your child’s education and to fill in the funding gap between the cost of attending school and the amount of federal loans, grants, and scholarships received. Cover your child’s tuition, room and board, books, computer, past-due tuition bills, and other educational expenses. You have enough to deal with, let cuScholar do the rest.

Financing from $2,000 to $120,000 (for undergraduates) and $160,000 (for graduates) per year, terms up to 120 months, no origination fees, and competitive interest rates.

We annually award financial scholarships to high school seniors who have been accepted to a college or trade school, existing college students, and teachers through our Jack C. Mathews College Scholarship Competition. For 40 years, Jack worked for the City of Los Angeles and also volunteered 34 years on the LAFCU Board of Directors. After retiring from the Board in 2011, the LAFCU Scholarship was re-named in his honor. Jack C. Mathews passed away in 2013.

You are eligible to apply if you are a high school senior or college student with a minimum 2.5 GPA who has verification of attending a college, university or trade school in the Fall. Scholarship winners are selected based on their academic transcript, extracurricular activities, community service, and essay.
