LAFCU in the Community

LAFCU Sponsors Two Soccer Teams

LAFCU is sponsoring two local American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) teams including the "LAFCU Lady Hawks," a group of 12 to 15-year-old girls representing El Monte and South El Monte (Region 908), and "Pink Fire," a troop of 5 to 7-year-old girls who play teams in Glendale and La Crescenta (Region 88). LAFCU Supports March for Babies

LAFCU joined thousands of walkers at the March of Dimes March for Babies fundraiser walk on Saturday, April 24 at Exposition Park next to USC, just south of Downtown Los Angeles. For the 15th consecutive year, LAFCU sponsored "Checkpoint" at the charity walk. Sponsored by the March of Dimes, March for Babies is the leading national nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. During the months of March and April, LAFCU employees and members raised money and donated more than $6,000 to March for Babies. All proceeds will go toward funding medical research to improve the health of babies by preventing premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality.

Premature birth, the leading cause of newborn death, has reached epidemic proportions in the U.S., affecting more than half a million babies each year. March for Babies raises money to support programs in the local community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. And it supports medical research to find answers to the problems that threaten babies nationwide. March for Babies has been walking since 1970 and has raised an incredible $1.8 billion to benefit all babies.
